Great article. Bit of an unrelated question, but is there a reason you are not on twitter unlike a lot of communist writers? Do you think the negatives of the platform outweigh the positives?
Yeah I personally do not like it. It makes me physically uncomfortable to read Twitter, so I tend to avoid it.
At the larger scale, I don't particularly like “discursive” approaches to analysis, and it seems like Twitter is particularly prone to that, perhaps because of the character limit format, everyone is just commenting on whatever is circulating at the moment and effectively just showing off an ability to superficially scan a stream of content. I don't get much out of it. But I understand how some ppl might get a certain masochist pleasure from the platform.
